Success formula-

  1. Time management, consistency, dedication and perseverance.
  2. Prepare and follow your schedule religiously.
  3. Follow current affairs & watch RSTV videos and revise them on daily basis. Try to link your current affairs with your GS answers and Essay.
  4. Limited sources, Maximum revision, Continuous Evaluation.
  5. Daily Answer writing practice. As Analytical questions are being asked,  try to make your answer Multidimensional. This will help you in GS because almost 50% of questions will appear unfamiliar to you. So, by following standard pattern: a)Definition b)Body/demand of question c)Conclusion/way forward, will rescue you during such times.
  6. Quality of content and richness of your answer will fetch you more marks.
  7. Give extra emphasis in perfecting your answer. Try to extract maximum marks from the same. (Ex- an average aspirant can get 5-6 marks for a question but if he/she can try to fetch 0.5-1 marks more in each question then it would create a big difference. As there are 15 questions, this time, in each GS papers, an aspirant can create difference of 22.5-45 marks in 3 GS papers(7.5-15marks in each).
  8. Give equal importance to all subjects. If you are good in some subjects then try to excel in them. On the other hand, if you’re weak in some subjects then try to improvise and atleast score average in them.
  9. Write atleast 2 formats for English & Gujarati daily. This will help you in tackling language papers easily, in addition to increasing your vocabulary.
  10. Follow standard Govt. sources like Economic survey, Niti Aayog Report, Gujarat’s socio economic review 2018-19 etc. Moreover, mention:
  • SDG GOALS
  • COMMITTEES
  • REPORTS & Economic survey findings
  • EXAMPLES
  • DOCTRINES
  • Central and state govt SCHEMES
  • FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS & DPSP articles whereever needed.

Words of wisdom-
  1. Problems and pressure are part of this beautiful journey. Just go with the flow.
  2. Consider yourself privileged that you got this opportunity to appear in exam. Many people don’t get chance even to graduate. So, you owe some responsibility to the society. Make maximum out of this opportunity.
  3. Either don’t do it or do it with full energy and dedication. Nothing in between. ALL OR NOTHING.
  4. Have faith in yourself. You’ve come this far, not to only come this far. Push your limits. Achieve what you want.
  5. Never become overconfident, always try to learn and improvise. Have curiosity.
  6. Target only one GOAL as if,”There’s no Plan B”.

  3. Thanka a lot sir. I would like to give small suggestion that topper of upsc batch 2018 prepared a blog http://demystifycse.in/ . In this blog they shared their strategy i.e If someone got a good marks in essay he/she will guide the aspirants to get maximum marks in that particular subject. So the point is that gpsc topper prepare a common blog and share their strategy. If this can happen it will going to be proven as boon for gpsc aspirants.

  13. I just went through GohilJi’s essay paper. 3rd question is asking about Ecological threats for the earth n Ankit sir has written the entire essay about ‘Election’. I’m not challenging his eligibility as a ranker but GPSC examiners are not taking job seriously. That’s being proven again n again
